Thoughts on Tesla Motors plugs infranstructure


"Also, while the U.S. power grid probably has enough overall capacity to supply energy to a nation of plug-in vehicles, it may not have the ability to charge them all when they plug in and demand energy at the same time –- for example, 6pm every weekday."

One way to get around this is to create buffers in every plug location that store a useable given amount of energy per a given amount of time. This would offset the "rush hour" problem. Basically some standard batteries that would buffer one Tesla car's energy need per a given time period, which would have to be a larger period of time then it takes for a Tesla car to fully charge if continuously plugged in.
